Zoey Zanders Hot Dog Special

Zoey Zander; a very nice young lady, comes intoRoy’s every Friday before soccer practice.  Zoey all most always orders the same thing: 2 hot dogs; no bun and then she either gets sliced tomatoes or Backyard BBQ chips. We all remember the first time Zoey came toRoy’s, she walked in and wasn’t sure she was going to be able to find something she liked on the menu.  She finally decided on a hot dog and then sliced tomatoes.  Her Daddy; Ed got a chicken meal; I believe he had potatoes with it. When Kim went back to the table to find out if Zoey was enjoying her hot dog she exclaimed; “Oh yes, these hot dogs are amazing!”

Zoey has a very outgoing personality and we look forward to her coming in to see us atRoy’s.  Zoey loves being here also, she is playing and helping us make new features in the ‘Find Me’ game. Funny thing the find me game was developed because of Zoey.  She would enter the door noticing something had been moved or added to the backyard décor; which inspired our head waitress; Ellen Ann, to come up with a game for kids to play.  The game is a list of things in the ‘backyard’ (the inside of the restaurant) and then the kids tell where they have found it.  Once they finish the 4th ‘find me’ paper, they get a special gift from Roy and Kim.

Skip’s BBQ Chicken Dippin’ Salad

Skip has been a loyal customer at Roy’s Backyard BBQ since day one. When Roy’s first opened in May 2011 he was one of their very first customer. Skip was at Roy’s eight days out of the first ten days they were open. Skip and his friend Karen were here for the first beer sold. Skip and Karen’s business has been, and is very much appreciated.

Skip came into the restaurant one day and asked if he could try something a bit different. That’s when he invented Skip’s BBQ Chicken Dippin’ Salad. He decided to have a fresh red lace salad, tomatoes, onions, Roy’s BBQ chicken on top, with a side of BBQ sauce to dip the salad in. Since the salad was created it has been very popular. Roy and Kim asked Skip to come up with a good name for his salad. Skip decided on Skip’s BBQ Chicken Dippin’ Salad.

At Roy’s Backyard BBQ on 109 S. Main Street, Roy and Kim strive to continuously involve Lake County’s community. They love to keep a family atmosphere, because it’s people like Skip and his BBQ Chicken Dippin’ Salad who are great assets to Lakeport. Roy and Kim are extremely active in Lake County’s community, sponsoring the B69’s race car, and giving donations to support Clearlake Performing Arts, VFW, Soper-Reese Theatre and many more. They plan on continuing their support in the future.
